State police said a shooting incident in Bourbon County near the Montgomery County line left a 25-year-old man wounded. James Ross was allegedly shot by his father, Ernest Ross, in the left knee, WKYT reports on its website.

The incident occurred about 3 a.m. Friday on Rogers Mill Road.

The two were reportedly having an argument when the father, who police said had been drinking, shot his son with a .22 long rifle, the station reported.

EMS took the son to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police arrested the father and charged him with assault first degree and assault fourth degree domestic violence.
