FRANKFORT – Attorney General Andy Beshear and his Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Cyber Crimes Unit Thursday announced a 33-year-old Lexington man has been arrested for allegedly seeking sex with a minor, and possessing and distributing child porn.

DCI investigators arrested Dallas Hatton at his home in Lexington Oct. 11, according to a state news release.

He was charged with one count of the prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor for sex, a Class D felony, and two counts of possession of matter portraying sex performance by a minor, and distribution of matter portraying the sex performance by a minor, Class D felonies.

According to DCI, Hatton was the subject of a two-week investigation after seeking sex with a minor and sending sexually explicit text messages and emails to DCI cyber investigators.

Upon obtaining a search warrant for Hatton’s Lexington home, DCI cyber investigators discovered he was allegedly in possession of several digital storage devices that contained child sex abuse images.

Hatton allegedly admitted he downloaded the images from the Internet and sent some of them to others electronically, according to DCI cyber investigators.

Hatton is currently being held in the Fayette County Detention Center. His bond has not been set. He is scheduled to appear in Fayette District Court for arraignment Thursday afternoon before Judge Kim Wilkie.

The Lexington Police Department assisted Beshear’s team on the case.
